PROFIL PRACOWNIKA: Dariusz Leśnikowski

Born in Częstochowa in 1959 . An adjunct professor in the Department of Drama and Theatre of the Institute of Contemporary Culture at the University of Łódź. The Director of the City Art Gallery in Łódź. A theatrologist, art critic. A graduate in culture studies and archaeology from the University of Łódź. He had an academic training and scholarship at the University of North London and the University of Reading (Great Britain). The author of numerous texts on theatre and contemporary art (books: Czytanie sztuki: postawy – interpretacje/Reading Art: Attitudes – Interpretations, Łódź 2006; Czytanie sztuki: postawy – interpretacje/Reading Art: Attitudes – Interpretations. Second decade, Łódź 2016). Organizer and curator of many art exhibitions - local, national and international. Since 1978 he was an actor and since 1980 the Artistic Director of Theatre ‘Pstrąg-Grupa’80’. A director, author or co-author of scripts, stage design, soundtracks for the majority of his performances. The group performed in Poland, Lithuania, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and Great Britain.
