Among the most popular study programmes offered by Deusto there are: Health Sciences, Law, Social and Human Sciences as well as Theology. Each provides the opportunity to acquire cross-sectional skills, participate in international research and collaborate with economic, cultural and institutional actors. The university students are encouraged to have a pro-social attitude and to acquire knowledge grounded in mutual respect, harmony, human rights, justice and peace.

- Athletic Bilbao football club has a transfer policy based on the “cantera” principle, i.e. the exclusive use of players born in the Basque Country or raised in the club's academy? This means that the club does not transfer players from outside the region, which makes it unique among other clubs.
- In Bilbao, there is one of the most important contemporary art museums of the world. Designed by the famous architect, Frank Gehry, it has an extremely rich collection of exhibits.
