The role of mentors is taken up by the representatives of the world of business, culture and media. They are people holding high positions in leading companies and organisations operating in Poland. Young people receive knowledge and various skills thanks to a wide range of competences of the mentors representing such industries as media, law, BPO, IT, public administration, PR or HR and their diverse personalities. In this year's edition of the project, our students can benefit from the support of many outstanding VIP Alumni, including: Marcin Malinowski – Google, Adam Nitecki – L'Oreal or Prof. Kazimierz Ujazdowski – Senate of the Republic of Poland.
The group of mentors is constantly growing – new VIP Alumni join the project with its subsequent editions and some take part in it yearly. In each edition, we manage to create from 30 up to 40 mentorship pairs. More than 300 students have participated in the previous nine editions of the project. They have benefited from the support of over 75 mentors – VIP Alumni of the University of Lodz. Experience in the implementation of the previous editions shows that the community of the Mentorship Project consists of committed mentors and active students.
"The mentorship project allows getting a perspective that cannot be obtained by participating in classes or science clubs. This initiative is a unique opportunity not only to consult professional plans, but also to be inspired and take on new ventures. This is an opportunity that you cannot miss."
– comments Natalia, participant of the 9th edition of the Mentorship Project.
The duration of the entire mentoring process within the project takes several months planned for the period January – June 2023. As part of the project, the students will be supported in taking up challenges and finding their own path to achieve goals and plans. They will get help in developing interpersonal competences, as well as get familiar with the ways to strengthen their sense of professional and personal value.
You can apply via an online form that is available on the website of the University of Lodz. Interested students, after familiarising themselves with the profiles of mentors, can apply by indicating a maximum of 3 preferred mentors. The participants of the 10th edition will be presented on 1 December this year during the ceremonial inauguration in the Biedermann’s Palace.
