Granty MINIATURA 5 dla Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego. Czołowe miejsca w rankingach!

In 2021 University of Lodz took 4th place in terms of the number of received MINIATURA grants from the National Science Centre (NCN). The University of Lodz researchers obtained funding for 22 projects. We are just behind the University of Warsaw which came 3rd with 23 grants. This is yet another proof of the strong research position developed by the scientists from the University of Lodz in Poland.

It is also worth mentioning the significant financial amount of success achieved in the MINIATURE grants. In the ranking the University of Lodz is on the 5th place with the funding amounting to PLN 720,730, ahead of, among others, University of Warsaw, which took the 7th place.

Below we present the list of the projects that have obtained funding as part of MNIAURA 5 with a breakdown into Faculties. The largest number of grants – 6, is being implemented at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz.

Results of MINIATURA 5

On 30 November this year the National Science Centre published the last ranking list under MINIATURA 5. In the last call addressed to researchers who have not managed any NCN-funded research projects yet, 300 research activities were deemed eligible, with a total of almost 700.

Funding awarded under MINIATURA 5 could have been designated for preliminary/pilot studies, library and archive searches, fellowships, research visits and/ or consultations. Proposals were submitted on an on-going basis – from May until September. The ranking lists of eligible research activities were published by NCN once a month. Now, the ranking list of proposals submitted in September is available (in Polish).

A competition for a good start

One of the aims of MINIATURA is to expand the group of applicants winning in NCN competitions and to encourage researchers from the research institutions reluctant to apply for NCN funding to do so. Applications can be submitted by researchers who have not managed any NCN-funded projects yet and have not been successful in a call for doctoral scholarships or fellowships.

In the competition researchers could obtain funding amounting from PLN 5000 to PLN 50 for research activities lasting up to 12 months. The call was available to researchers who received their PhD degree after 1 January 2009 and whose scientific achievements included at least one paper published or at least one artistic achievements or one research-artistic achievement.

A few days ago we wrote about other grants awarded to the researchers from the University of Lodz by the National Science Centre: Scientists from the University of Lodz with OPUS 21 and PRELUDIUM 20 grants

We also encourage you to check information published in the UL Employee Knowledge Database, including news about calls for grant competitions, as well as the guide on projects implementation and management.
