People who plan to study at the Lodz universities or are winners or finalists of nationwide subject Olympiads can apply for the scholarships funded by the President of the City of Lodz. This year, among the winning students from universities from Lodz, there were 23 University of Lodz students. They will receive from PLN 1200 up to PLN 1400 every month.

During the gala the best students of the Lodz universities were also honoured with the scholarships funded by companies from Lodz – partners of the Młodzi w Łodzi programme. They also received reimbursement of accommodation costs in a student dormitory or funding for participation in language courses or other courses that improve competences.

As always, during the gala of the Młodzi w Łodzi scholarship programme, the UL Rector’s Award amounting to PLN 6 000 was presented. It was awarded as part of the Idea for Startup competition and it was won by the team of eSens4YOU startup of Prof. Łukasz Półtorak from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Lodz. He is working on sensors that allow simple analysis of chemical compounds of great social importance, e.g. for the detection of narcotic compounds.
