Podsumowanie 19th EkSoc International Summer School

The 19th International Summer School entitled "Environmental Aspects of Global Social and Economic Development" was held between 26 June and 7 July 2023 at the University of Lodz Faculty of Economics and Sociology. The event was organised as part of the Summer School of Social Sciences project.

The classes were attended by 30 lecturers and more than 150 students from 14 universities, from 6 countries (Brazil, Ecuador, Turkey, Iraq, Ukraine and Poland). One hundred and thirty full-time students (including 15 from the University of Lodz) and 10 online students (including one person from the University of Lodz) passed the final exam and obtained a summer school certificate

The 19th International Summer School at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology included not only 48 hours of lectures, but also accompanying events – a tour of Lodz, a piano concert at the Biedermann’s Palace, a barbecue. It was also a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, learn about foreign cultures and develop English in practice. The international students got to know Lodz – its inhabitants and culture, they also got acquainted with the offer of the University of Lodz and are genuinely interested in it, while the lecturers had an opportunity to make new contacts and take part in numerous scientific discussions. Closing Ceremony, which took place on the last day of the event, was full of warm words and emotions.

The Summer School of Social Sciences project is implemented as part of the SPINAKER programme – intensive international educational programmes co-financed by the European Social Fund under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development, a non-competitive project entitled "Support for institutional capacity of Polish HEIs through establishment and implementation of international study programmes".
