Przedstawiciele UŁ w delegacji NAWA w Wietnamie

A delegation from the University of Lodz, consisting of: Dr Maciej Jażdżewski (International Hub, University of Lodz) and Dr Michał Zaręba (Faculty of International and Political Studies at the University of Lodz), took part in a trip to Vietnam organised by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) as part of the Edu&Science Meetings series on 8 – 14 November 2023.

During their stay in Vietnam, the representatives of the University of Lodz presented the possibilities of studying at our university in two high schools: in Hanoi (the Vietnamese-Polish Friendship Highschool in Hanoi) and Saigon (Marie Curie High School), as well as to students of the Ton Duc Thang University in Saigon during the educational fair of Polish universities. They also presented the research cooperation offer to nine universities from Hanoi and eight universities from Saigon.

The delegates of the University of Lodz took part in the celebration of the National Independence Day at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi, met with graduates of Polish universities (including the University of Lodz), attended the opening of the Polish Corner in the library at Ton Duc Thang University in Saigon (opened by Justyna Pabian, chargé d' affaires at the Polish embassy) and took part in meetings with the Vietnam - Poland Friendship Association (VPFA).

Vietnamese universities are very open to the possibility of cooperation with Polish scientists. They can boast about long-term cooperation with universities in Europe, the USA and Australia and they offer modern campuses and equipment. Currently, eight students from the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the University of Lodz are staying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Hanoi, under a bilateral agreement under the NAWA programme. Whereas, Prof. Małgorzata Pietrasiak and Dr Michał Zaręba from the Department of Asian Studies regularly conduct research on Vietnam's foreign policy.

Apart from the University of Lodz, the following universities represented Poland in Vietnam:

  • The AGH University of Krakow,
  • Wrocław University of Science and Technology,
  • Poznań University of Economics and Business,
