Platforma czasopism UŁ - nowe funkcjonalności

The platform managed by the Lodz University Press is used for recording scientific content and coordinating the journals publishing process. It also has built-in tools that connect with other specialised databases and disseminate science.

The platform www.czasopisma.uni.lodz.pl is constantly developed in order to increase its effectiveness and reach. As part of the latest update, the Lodz University Press has introduced four important functionalities:

HTML

The content is deposited in the form of HTML files, which makes it possible for the recipients to get the latest research results. Thanks to the hyperlinks and intuitive navigation they facilitate material verification, increase its visibility on the Internet and readability – HTML files responsively adapt to the recipient's screen.

ROR

The publishing house has introduced another tool to identify the affiliation of individual researchers and link them to specific studies and analyses – Research Organisation Registry (ROR).

It is a register of research organisations, whose goal is to develop a useful and unique open balanced identifier for every research organisation in the world that records institutional links and enables linking of scientific organisations and individual research results with their authors. Therefore, it allows for more insightful tracking of specific analyses and publications in institutions and funding bodies.

Crossref Funder Registry

Lodz University Press as a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics introduces new solutions that support full transparency in conducting scientific research. Since 2022, the University of Lodz journal platform has been integrated with the Crossref Funder Registry. It is an open global register of grant awarding organisations.

Information about the financing of a given publication will be recorded in the Open Journal System as part of standard metadata, along with the unique identifiers of the funding agency, visible in the Crossref registry. The metadata includes the names of the grant awarding institutions and the associated grant numbers.

PlumX Metrics

In the new version of OJS, the editors of the University of Lodz journals can use the PlumX metrics tool, which calculates the metric data of a given article. The data is displayed on the page in the form of a diagram, which is also a link to the full numerical report.

The indicators are divided into five categories:

Citations – the category includes both traditional citation indexes, provided by Scopus, and citations that measure the social impact of a selected article: citations in the texts of regulations and laws, and the impact of a given text on the development of clinical trials.

Usage – the category indicates whether someone reads the articles or uses the research otherwise. It includes the number of clicks, downloads, views and the library resource in which the text has been included.

Captures – the category makes it possible to assess whether the reader returns to the selected article. Data recorded in this category can be a leading indicator of potential citations.

Mentions – these are press articles, comments, reviews, and Wikipedia citations or blog entries concerning selected scientific text.

Social media – the category includes Facebook and Twitter posts and likes that relate to given research. Social media can indicate how well the text has been promoted.

We encourage you to get familiar with the new tools.
