From Svitlovodsk to Lodz
Anastasiia is from Central Ukraine and was able to apply for the programme because, even though she is not a student of a technical university, she is studying Computer Science at the University of Lodz, one of the study programmes in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) area.
At first, I was supposed to study in Kiev, but that proved too dangerous. Therefore, I found a good offer to study in English at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Lodz. In turn, information about the Perspektywy and Intel scholarship was found by my teacher from the school in my hometown. He persuaded me to apply. At the moment, I'm not thinking about whether to stay in Poland or come back to Ukraine, it's too early. I’m concentrating on obtaining good education in an EU state and finding a good job that I am passionate about. But I would like to return to my homeland one day.
What does the Perspektywy and Intel programme offer?
The "New Technologies for Women – Ukraine" programme scholarship holders receive a scholarship for PLN 2,000 gross monthly for almost a year. In addition, they can attend specialised workshops led by the Intel experts, gaining both 'hard' and 'soft' skills. They also get the chance to take part in free career advisory sessions and the 'Buddies Programme', which provides an opportunity to share experiences with peers who are participating in the project.
Perspektywy Women in Tech 2023 – a free pass!
The final benefit of winning the scholarship will come up next year. The programme participants will also be able to attend Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2023 free of charge. The event will be organised in Warsaw in June 2023. It is an international conference that enables women from Europe and Asia working in technologies, science and innovation areas to meet and exchange their experiences to help their professional and personal development.
