The Camera Action Festival was brought to life in 2010. University of Lodz has been present since the beginning of the festival, because it was created by students and graduates of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz. Each year, the event is substantively supported by the staff of the university. The project is the only festival in Europe devoted to film criticism.UniWersum, i.e. A Day with the University of Lodz, is not only about lessons on how to think critically about a film. It is also an invitation to start an adventure with the film industry and an opportunity to receive answers to the following questions:
- How to make a documentary film without violating the rights of the people being filmed?
- What are the duties and rights of a director and production manager?
- Does HR knowledge affect the activities of a creative producer and if so, how?
- What is influencer marketing and how to use this form of promotion in practice?
UniWersum is a unique event that will make it easier to start working in the film industry. The invited experts will present new perspectives of perceiving the audiovisual industry – it is worth using them in everyday activities in the industry, even at the very beginning of this adventure! Everything is presented in an accessible and practical way.
The programme includes inspiring film analysis workshops "Wytwórnia znaczeń" with Diana Dąbrowska (Thursday, 13 October, 11:00 a.m.) – winner of the Polish Film Institute Prize in the Film Criticism category and host of the Accademia del Cinema Italiano [Italian Film Accademia]. During the meeting, the film expert will analyse many iconic titles and show how important an element of the critic's workshop the ability to delve into details is.
Together with the audience, we will break down all aspects of the cinematic work into prime factors. This will stimulate the attendees’ creative thinking and allow them to unleash a critical and individual view of cinematography

For those who want to see the best animations from the world of film, the organisers have prepared a parallel block of films from the International Competition Authors Spotlight (Thursday, 13 October, 11:00 a.m.).
And finally, knowledge about the audiovisual industry in a nutshell, i.e. power speeches – full of useful information, dynamic and memorable speeches delivered by the invited guests. Among professionals, Krzysztof Kurosz (a judge and academic lecturer) will have a look at the issue of using the image of persons not only in documentary films, but also in amateur productions posted on YouTube.

We will explore issues that are interesting both from the legal and practical points of view

Lena Grzesiak is another speaker. During her speech “Creating a good team is an art. About contemporary trends in human resource management” she will talk about how to recruit a team with whom each project can be carried out.
Today, people are moving away from traditional work in the office and focusing on freedom and individualism, all in order to maintain a work-life balance. This is something for those who want to take the necessary step towards a successful venture

Kinga Stopczyńska – a PR and marketing expert, who will reveal what influencer marketing should look like today, will end the session full of power speeches.
Nowadays, social media has won the hearts of Internet users and has taken over their free time. Over time, Internet creators have gained the status of celebrities, exerting a considerable influence on people of all ages. Thanks to this conversation, you will find out that a well-used influencer marketing can become the basic form of promoting your product or event, reaching your dream audience

The 13th edition of the Camera Action Festival will be held from 13-16 October 2022: on-site in Lodz and online via the Think Film platform (17-20 October). The event is organised thanks to the co-financing from the budget of the City of Lodz. It has been also co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund, the Polish Film Institute and the University of Lodz – patron of the festival. The festival is held under the honorary patronage of the President of the City of Lodz, Hanna Zdanowska.
The meetings from the Education Action series are carried out as part of the "Łódź akademicka, Łódź naukowa 2022” programme. The project is co-financed from the budget of the city of Lodz as part of the regranting carried out by the Opus Centre. FKA Foundation is the organiser.
