As many as 80 guests will take part in the four-day event, which will also be held online.

The programme of this year's Camera Action Festival can be found on the website of the festival (visit the website).

THE BEGINNINGS OF THE CAMERA ACTION FESTIVAL

The Camera Action Festival is about the most interesting, bold and discussion-stimulating films straight from Cannes, Venice and Berlinale. The event was brought to life in 2010 and became the only festival in Europe dedicated to film criticism. Year by year, the festival attracts a growing number of viewers and cinemagoers who engage in discussions with critics and creators – the goal of the festival is to popularise the free exchange of ideas about cinematography without division into experts and laymen.

COOPERATION BETWEEN THE FESTIVAL AND THE UNIVERSITY OF LODZ

The concept of the festival was created by graduates of the University of Lodz, and for 14 years both employees and current students have been cooperating for it and its implementation. Together we have been creating a unique event in Poland

– says the University of Lodz Vice-Rector for External Relations, Prof. Agnieszka Kurczewska.

During this year's edition, the University of Lodz has been involved in the festival in various ways.

The university takes part in, among other things: in the work of the selection committee of the International Competition Authors Spotlight, which includes three members of the Film Studies Science Club of the University of Lodz. Dr Michał Pabiś-Orzeszyna from the Department of Film and Audio-Visual Media at the University of Lodz also chairs one of the discussion panels. We have alos engaged in a meeting with the producer of the film entitled "Zone of Interest" by Ewa Puszczyńska (Grand Prix Cannes 2023) and in the conversation around the book "Inny świat? Kino autorskie Doroty Kędzierzawskiej" [Another world? Auteur cinema by Dorota Kędzierzawska](Lodz University Press 2023). Together with the festival, we are organising a joint competition for young people "Nakręceni na lato"
