Uniwersytet Łódzki zacieśnia współpracę z Accenture

Joint research projects, new specialist courses for students, knowledge transfer, internships, traineeships – these and many other areas are stipulated in the cooperation agreement that has just been signed between Accenture in Poland and the University of Lodz. The aim of the initiated partnership is to use the experience and capabilities of both organisations for the development of Polish science.

The official signing of the cooperation agreement took place today (19 October) at the Rector's Office of the University of Lodz (UL). On the part of the university, it was signed by Professor Elżbieta Żądzińska – Rector of the University of Lodz, while Accenture was represented by Jarosław Kroc – CEO of Accenture in Poland of Accenture in Poland. In the signed agreement, University of Lodz and Accenture have defined specific areas and directions of cooperation, such as the implementation of scientific, research and development or educational projects by joint teams, as well as the exchange of experience and knowledge through the mutual improvement of qualifications of scientific and research staff and students.

The concluded agreement stipulates that during the three years of its duration, University of Lodz and Accenture will be able to jointly organise non-degree postgraduate studies, specialised scientific traineeships for students and doctoral students, as well as short-term internships that can be led by experienced professionals who work at Accenture on a daily basis.

University of Lodz has long been open to cooperation with business. In a rapidly changing world, we constantly have to look for new development opportunities for our students and academic staff. The technology industry is one of the industries that are becoming more and more important right now, as shown by the experience of the last pandemic year. We are therefore pleased to be working more closely with Accenture, one of the leaders in the ICT industry in Poland. Thanks to that our students will be able to gain practical knowledge and new skills. Moreover, we believe that together we will be able not only to cooperate and develop young talents, but also create new innovative solutions.

– said Prof. Elżbieta Żądzińska – Rector of the University of Lodz.

Both parties also declare their willingness to provide mutual services in the area of the exchange of scientific and technological experience, and the use of research equipment, as well as the promotion of Polish science and technology, for example through organising joint seminars and scientific conferences.

Collaboration between Accenture in Poland and the University of Lodz is particularly important to me. The university is my Alma Mater, where I defended my Master's thesis in 1989. The studies have provided me with a solid foundation for my development, both personally and professionally. This makes me even more pleased that Accenture in Poland will contribute to shaping the next generation of young people who have joined the University of Lodz. I also recognise the challenges and increasing demands that the university is facing. As in business, universities need to respond to changes in the modern world so that they can create a competitive offer to attract the best students. The joint initiative between Accenture and the University of Lodz will help enrich the university's portfolio, deliver innovative teaching programmes, organise specialised workshops and traineeships for students, and co-create dedicated events.

– comments Jarosław Kroc, CEO of Accenture in Poland.
